Cliff isn’t proud of it, but his first thought when he sees the video is that he knew Roz was going to be involved in some kind of sex scandal one day. He always kind of assumed there was a sex tape out there somewhere, that would end up spreading like wildfire.
It’s just that the scandal in Cliff’s mind involved something more like the adulterous wife of a Voyageur, and less like the anonymous dick of some guy in a club bathroom.
So, point to Roz, he guesses, for still managing to surprise him after all these years.

Summary
Shane tries not to be disappointed in the way the whole thing has worked out. Because the thing about Rozanov is that his existence is infuriating. And he is so much fun to play against. Shane had almost liked the thought of having a rival and, had the lottery gone a little differently, he and Rozanov would have been drafted to the same division and really delivered on that possibility. They could have really enjoyed it.
As it stands, one of them is going to the southernmost team in the league, and the other is going all the way up North.
Or-
The draft lottery goes a little differently and suddenly there is no rivalry, no joint CCM campaign, and nothing between Shane and Ilya but a charged encounter in a hotel gym and 4,000 kilometres of distance.
A lot of things are different, and some others are too fated to be ruined by something as immaterial as luck.
