    For fifty years, the rule in Japan has been that omegas who wish to play team sports have to wear a collar from their captain. So when Kageyama presents unexpectedly just before a tournament, the logical choice is for Oikawa, as senior captain, to collar him.
    Tobio agrees because it’s the only way he can play. But then, like a day later, suddenly Oikawa is all up in his business, demanding if he’s eaten, or why he’s tired, and generally being a controlling Alpha prick.

    Tooru had never bought into the cliches about Alpha instincts--wanting to scent some random omega or protect someone he didn’t care about?--it was ridiculous. And then he put his collar on Tobio, and suddenly he finds himself acting on impulses that made him barely recognize himself.

    Everyone around them takes for granted that Kageyama and Oikawa together is a dumpster fire. But Iwaizumi and Sugawara have a creeping suspicion that there’s only one thing that can explain this crazy bond between them: the two of them are True Mates.

    Mikey stared at his older brother, whom he idolized at the peak of his glory days as the leader of the Black Dragons. He still looked up to him. However, his admiration is waning after seeing him mope around at getting rejected for the fourth time this month, adding to his long list of failed romantic endeavors.

    And even with his declaration now about not being afraid to love someone, Mikey has to disagree. It’s too much pain. Too much inconvenience, he decides. His life is whole enough, and he doesn’t want to end up without the person he loves, whom he'll lose one day anyway.

    That’s when Mikey decided he didn’t want to take after Shinichiro in this aspect as much as he loved his brother—running headfirst after that eventual heartache.

    Mikey was determined not to fall in love.

    Mikey takes after his older brothers by also hopelessly falling in love with his best friend and becomes weak for one Hanagaki Takemichi.

    On the night of six years ago, Takemichi Hanagaki and Mikey Sano broke up. One might’ve thought that all those passing years would’ve watered down Takemichi’s feelings for a certain dark eyed, handsome blonde. But it did not, and on the anniversary of their breakup, Mikey came back.

    Just as he promised he would.

    “I’ll be back.”

    Takemichi sobs, he sobs and sobs until Mikey was nothing but a blur of colors with no definite shape. Until the air he consumed into his lungs had hurt, making him heave as his legs that were once shaking before gave out completely.

    “And when I come back…and you still want me, I’ll be back for good. I promise you.”

    Then he left.
