Stan can’t help the happy noises that escape from his chest as he chows down. The food tastes like heaven. Wet and meaty and filling. Nothing like he’s had before but still better than anything he’s tried to scrounge out of dumpsters.
Tate giggles and lightly trails his hand over Stan’s vibrating side. “Mama, what’s he doin’?”
“It’s something they do when they’re happy,” Mom explains, gently guiding Tate’s palm to Stan’s side to feel it better. It’s uncomfortable but the food flavor exploding on his tongue keeps the rumbles going. “It’s called purring.”
Which is something Stan can do now, since, oh yeah, he’s a cat.

Sanji mumbles out something incoherent but stumbles away from the group toward the galley. Zoro’s head turns to follow. Everyone gives the cook distracted good nights. Nami grins a little at just where Zoro’s eyes are drawn to.
Nami can only tell because she knows what to look for. Just barely there, between Sanji’s thighs, is a damp spot reflected in the lamp light. It sends a jolt of lust so strong Nami is stumbling to her feet in seconds. She fake yawns and makes sure her chest pops when she does, to draw attention away from her crotch. “I think I’ll hit the hay too. Goodnight.”

Summary
In a perfect world, Eddie would have come to California with a ten-point plan of seduction—one point dedicated to ensuring that Richie still felt the same, another point that hinged on flirting skills that Eddie most certainly wasn’t equipped with, and so on a so forth. But in case the killer clown and the childhood trauma didn’t make it obvious, this wasn’t a perfect world.
So, to put it plainly, Eddie was terribly underprepared.

The available data was this:
Richie had a history of hiring escorts. Male escorts. Like, for sex. For gay sex, with men. This confirmed at least one of Eddie’s hopes, even as rage filled him at the way Richie’s manager and supposed friend had let that slip in front of a stranger.
Richie deserved better. Eddie was going to tear Steve to fucking shreds if their paths ever crossed again.
Apparently, the escorts Richie hired all had some traits in common with Eddie. A lot of traits. A suspicious amount of very specific traits.
The list-style description that Steve had rattled off was seared into his brain. It played in his head now, when he looked in the mirror across from the bed.
Short, brown hair, big brown eyes, polo shirt, small build. Bitchy face.
The inevitable conclusion was that Richie wanted to have sex with guys that resembled Eddie, but not Eddie, himself. This could be for any number of reasons, not the least of which was Eddie’s horrible, abrasive personality. Or multiple disfiguring scars.
