She's sitting in Bose's bed, arms loosely wrapped around the boy curled up against her side like he's trying to hide himself in every single shred of offered comfort. And she's aching with exhausted fury, the kind of anger that would be exploding out of her if she wasn't so tired; as it is, it's just a dull flicker burning quietly in her chest.
"I'm going to attack your stepdad." She bites out the familiar words the same way she always does, with the same irrational hope that he'll somehow be able to hear the unspoken you deserve so much better than this without her having to say it out loud.on loving your mirror, loving your reflection, and realizing that the former will almost always lead you to the latter.

After the funeral Henry didn’t go to Dystopia like he told Ray. He had a plan made months ago, before Drex, and before his death, when he realized he wasn’t graduating. Henry went to Gotham. He changed his name, he had records and pictures placing him in Gotham since he turned 17. He changed his name. All the forged paperwork, all the lies and fraud was so he could start fresh somewhere Kid Danger wasn’t thrown in his face everywhere he looked.
Charlotte and Jasper went with him. They decided to take a gap year from their respective colleges to help him settle. Henry got his GED, and he was attending GothamU. His life was looking up. Until it all came crashing down. (UPDATES REGULARLY) -

Realistically, Chapa should have expected to get caught sooner. She was managing to break into an amusement park with half-decent security every night; she had always known that if the park's management ever fixed the fence, or if they realized one of their security cameras was broken, she'd be in hot water.
So- yeah. She should have seen this coming.
But she didn't. She got too comfortable, let her guard slip for too long, and got completely blindsided by something that should have been obvious from the start.
Of course they would notice the camera was down, eventually. Of course they would send someone to go figure out why.
And of course, of course, because she apparently couldn't catch a single break ever-
-of course that person would be Shoutout.or: Chapa gets caught breaking into an amusement park, has a bit of an anxiety attack, and realizes that her crush on Shoutout has reached the point of being actually genuinely in love with her. pretty much in that order.

Chapa's always dealt with some degree of insomnia; it had gotten bad before, sure, but- it had never been too difficult to handle.
But not long after Ray leaves with Credenza, that changes; she's suddenly dealing with the worst insomnia attack she's ever had.
Well. At least she doesn't have to deal with it alone.(featuring: post-canon danger force found family, those kids being so incredibly soft about each other, hurt/comfort, and an author who committed to realism a bit too hard and ended up Not Sleeping. <3)

As far as anyone knew, Kid Danger died in that blimp crash atop Mount Swellview. He died a hero, with a cliche statue in his honor and everything to prove it.
Captain Man moved on shortly after his sidekick's death, taking in four new kids with superpowers to train. Still the strong and unwavering public figure that Swellview could rely on.
Henry Hart was just a teen on a missing poster on a wall that pedestrians ignored as they went about their daily commutes.
Ray Manchester was a wreck. A hermit who ignored his students and stayed in bed all day, chasing after a dream where he wasn't left all alone. Where he still had his Kid.
And Revenant? Revenant was the new villain on the block. A terrifying villain who seemed to know everything about Captain Man and wasn't afraid to toy with him.

"Ah, ah, ah!" the criminal waved his finger threateningly at Chapa. “Careful, little one. If I were you, I'd save my strength," he stood up straight and smiled, "you'll need it. At least until Captain Man shows up..." he finished and, without waiting for a response, walked away laughing.

If you had asked him a year ago if he would return to that town, he probably would have laughed sarcastically and responded with a big "no."
But... in the last year, everything had changed quite a bit.
Now he lived in Newtown, building a new image as a local superhero from scratch.
and, as usual, he wasn't alone: he had a sidekick. Missy Martin.It's no exaggeration to say that the whole situation filled him with nostalgia.
and ,the most important thing.
Newtown was only 45 minutes away from Swellview.Maybe he should visit his hometown, right? After all these years, what's the worst that could happen?
Maybe he'd take Missy with him, if she annoyed him long enough,
