In an AU in which the Sburb shenanigans never happened, and the beta kids all live in the same neighborhood, Dave finds himself spending more time at friends's houses than his own. In particular, at John's house.
Naturally, he ends up talking to John's dad quite a bit, and he starts exclusively referring to him as John's Dad, even to his face.
Basically this is a fluffy fic where Dave borderline lives with John, and also accidentally gains a father figure along the way.
