"This is Officer Greene from the West Ashfield police department with an update on the missing persons report you filed for a James Christopher Sunderland. We concluded our preliminary assessment of the situation and have decided to open a current investigation into your son’s whereabouts. As your appointed liaison, I want to be to fully aware of the situation and make sure you understand we will put our best efforts into finding your son. Please call me back whenever you’re able so I can brief you on our process for the investigation, thank you.”
She played it again. "Mr. Sunderland, sir-"
And again. "-the missing persons report-"
And again, just to hear James's name one more time.

Summary
Mary always had a desire to return to Silent Hill, to the one place she grew to love during her vacation there alongside her beloved husband.
Sadly, that much desired dream ended up on ice due to a series of unfortunate circumstances following their return from the town, culminating in her ending up terminally ill and on the cusp of death.
Against those odds, the woman somehow manages to recover from such an ordeal. However, this return to a healthier state coincides with James going missing. Then, one day, Mary receives a letter from him which motivates her to return to Silent Hill.
It is during this journey to try and find James where Mary not only learns about the town’s true nature and its secrets, but also uncovers a truth about herself she may have not been fully honest about.

Reyes is waiting for him in a place called Silent Hill and urges him to come and find him. Will Scott, broken and full of regret, be able to reunite with his past love or is there something more sinister at play?
It is not necessary to know anything about the Silent Hill series to follow the plot and enjoy this fic. However, be mindful that this is a psychological horror story, dealing with distressing imagery, dark themes and adult content. Scott is in for quite a journey and so are the readers. Keep the tags in mind but also remember that there is often a reward at the end for all the suffering.

James Sunderland wasn’t expecting to wake up after he drove into Lake Toluca in Silent Hill. He definitely wasn’t expecting to wake up in Spain after being dragged out of his sinking car by an attractive man. His punishment hadn’t been completed and it was continuing to haunt him, but he nevertheless finds himself drawing closer to this man. He wants to do everything he can to save his life from the horrors they face, even if it puts his own at risk. If he can save a life in exchange for his own, maybe he can finally feel at peace and repay his debt to Mary.

Heather Mason is a grown-ass adult who's afraid of the dark. What she really needs is a therapist who can help her peel back the layers of that Freudian Madhouse she experienced, but it's kind of hard to find those out in the real world where talking about the split headed dogs you've encountered leads to people assuming you've had a psychotic break with reality.
While she and the other Silent Hill Survivors have a bit of a support group in one other, things only really start getting better—and worse—when a strangely benevolent monster starts showing up on her ceiling again...
... And as always, things inevitably go back to hell.
