It’s not that he thinks it was wrong of Ed to punch the guy, or that he’s not grateful to be defended so fiercely. He loves when Ed gets all huffy and protective. It just feels a little different when your best friend punches a man into the appetizer table for insulting you and you also know you’ve been in love with him for thirty years.
