“Well, you getting kidnapped, of course,” Shuu pointed out simply, as it was the most obvious thing in the world.

At the core of himself, he is a samurai; death has never frightened him, only the shame of defeat, and it’s a fear he has faced, been subjected to and worked himself through until he realized that it wasn’t as horrible as it sounded.
Not when defeat had allowed him to open his eyes to the truth of his life, and the truth of the Master he had so Loyally served until then.

Naaza carefully kept his face neutral and didn’t snap back at the impudent Trooper who had just barged in and was speaking to him with clear suspicion.
So much for enjoying a game of Go while everyone else was busy.
Or, when Kourin barged in to tell them Rekka has disappeared somewhere in the palace, Naaza was annoyed. He had known it was a bad idea to even issue an invitation to those boys! Then he grew concerned. Uh, perhaps he and the other Masho should have mentioned the tentacles monster that dwelt in the hot springs before letting the Troopers roam on their lonesome?
