Summary
The castle stood tall as ever, no signs of battle or explosion. That wasn’t the concerning part of what he saw, though. What was concerning was that it was surrounded by fields of wheat, carrots, and potatoes. A small waterfall had somehow formed, falling from the top of the mountain into a little pond at the bottom that had moss and reeds growing in and around it. Palm trees sprouted from the sand here and there, framing the mountain and the castle in a way that was just a little too perfect to be natural. A wooden pen had been built at the bottom of the mountain, filled with cows, llamas, and sheep.
All of this was, in fact, very concerning to Grian. He had been the last player in the arena, and that definitely was not how he’d left Monopoly Mountain.
But what was probably the most concerning thing, at least to Grian, was the sight of a man walking out of the door of the sand castle, carrying what looked to be a basket of some sort in both arms, wearing a hat and an open, button-down t-shirt.
OR: The Watchers misinterpret what Grian meant by "home."

Summary
Grian read the grave for what must have been the hundredth time since he’d carved it.
“Here lies BigB. The best secret soulmate. I am sorry.”
It wasn’t enough. It felt like too much. Guilt stacked on top of guilt, creating a thick anxiety that settled in his stomach and tied around his guts, twisting and pulling until he felt like he was going to be sick. He let out a shaking breath, only to suck another one in, the frigid mountain air filling his lungs, heavier than granite in his chest.
He’d killed his chosen soulmate. He’d caused his bound one to drop to red.
Where did that leave him?
AKA the night after Grian kills his soulmate. Grian makes mistakes. Scar picks up the pieces.

Summary
Fabian was falling asleep on a roof.
Yes, he was aware of how bad of an idea this was. He was aware of all the horrible things that could happen when one falls asleep on the slanted roof of a near-stranger’s house. He could imagine the horror of sliding, then falling off, and could imagine the feeling of his bones breaking like glass as he landed. He was aware of all of this, and he did not care.
Fabian was falling asleep on a roof, and he was falling asleep next to Riz Gukgak. Which meant that any words of warning, any lectures, any scolding would be lost on him.
