Summary
Everything was fine, one moment.
The hermits have arrived in the fresh new season nine world.
There's only enough time for everyone to greet each other and take in the view before the ground begins to shake and the fissures swallow them whole. Plunged into unknown depths filled with new dangers, fractured and separated, the hermits must fight their way to the surface and to each other to make it out alive.
All the while, the true cause for the quakes and the extreme dangers remains unknown, lurking in the darkness.

I'm in love. The amount of care and knowledge put into this is admirable and it kind of reminds me of Pirates of the Caribbean with its world building/plot vibe, and I'm so head over heels for it. Scar let out a heavy sigh, starting to push away from his desk before pausing for a moment, shaking his head, then leaning forward again, his quill continuing to glide along the parchment. He wasn’t ready yet, surely whoever had come to collect him could wait a few minutes longer. Or a few hours. Or a few years, actually.
It wasn’t as if he didn’t want to go on this trip. He knew just how important it was, and how privileged he was that he got to go on it, but-
Well, it wasn’t quite what he’d been hoping for. For a powerful mage such as himself (or, well - future powerful mage, that is) this was perhaps the most important journey he’d make in his lifetime. His pilgrimage to the Crystal Fountain, the source of magic itself, the very journey he’d spent his entire life working towards. He should be excited. He was excited.
At least, he had been, until he found out that he wasn’t to make the journey alone.

The amount of care, detail, and thought put into this AU always just.. blows me away. It's one of those works where if you didn't know it was fanfiction, you'd think it was a world of its own. I've read this 2 or 3 times over now, and I don't know if I'll ever tire of it or find a way to kick it out of my brain where it has lived rent-free for months. Excellent work, my friend.

This work brings me so much joy I love its charm and silliness and writing style!!
Following along with it as it gained accidental plot was an absolute TREAT, and I end up rereading this all the time because I love it so much. Couldn't recommend it more.
