Following the aftermath of Dylan Shrike getting caught and sent to a Russian Supermax the Horsemen disbands and Lula May breaks up with him, leaving a now twenty-two-year-old Jack Wilder to face the world alone once more. Washed up from going corporate and being a cheap party trick the once renowned magician settles in Portland, Oregon, where he happens to drown his sorrows at a bar owned by a team of world class thieves.
Set for new adventures, Jack decides to cut his losses and try his hand at a different kind of magic. A kind of magic even J. Daniel Atlas couldn't see coming.
