“What?” Bakugo’s gravelly voice rings out and Hitoshi blinks when he remembers that it’s the middle of the night and Bakugo likes his sleep.
Well, he already woke him up, might as well keep going.
“I need to see you,” Hitoshi rasps out, his throat still sore from being choked out earlier that night and there’s only a brief silence on the other end of the line.
Yeah, Bakugo probably didn’t expect it to be him, considering his mission wasn’t due to end for another two weeks or so.
Things just went a little sideways and Hitoshi had to improvise.
“I’m keeping your cat company,” Bakugo finally says.

"Are you deaf or just stupid?" Bakugo's cutting voice interrupts his musings and Hitoshi somehow manages to drag his eyes up to him.
"Tired," he slurs out and then falls forward, until his head rests on Bakugo's stomach.
"So let's get you upstairs so you can sleep in your bed and not propped up against me," Bakugo sighs out and Hitoshi must already be asleep, because there is no other explanation for the hand in his hair.
"'s not safe," Hitoshi mutters and feels how Bakugo sighs.
"I'm here, aren't I? It doesn't get safer than that," he gives back and maybe he's right.
Yeah, he has to be right, Hitoshi thinks, because Bakugo is one of the top three heroes and if he says it's safe then it must be.

Hitoshi pouts up at Bakugo, he honestly to god pouts, but Bakugo only stares him down.
"If you want to die, I can help that along," he then offers and raises his hands in warning.
"But I want honey," Hitoshi mutters and Shouta snorts because he still remembers very vividly the same discussion he had with Hizashi a year or two ago.
Going by the look Hizashi sends him, he remembers it, too.

Summary
Shouta's hands keep shaking as he tries to hold Hizashi's throat together. There's blood pouring between his fingers, leaving red traces all over the place and Shouta can't think. His ears are still ringing and he's pretty sure he has a bleeding headwound himself but all he's aware of is the red, hot blood leaving Hizashi's body.
His stupid directional speaker is supposed to protect his throat, not shatter on impact and slice Hizashi's throat open and Shouta distantly thinks that they'll have to talk to the support department to get something new developed for Hizashi.
Hizashi, who keeps bleeding out, who keeps moving, who keeps making desperate sounds and Shouta moves his eyes from his throat to his face.

At least Hizashi is most definitely safe, he almost hysterically thinks, because his voice is still coming from the radio.
"Your son and his mother were caught in that explosion."
Shouta is so perplexed by those words that he blinks a few times, trying to bring any meaning to them that goes beyond 'your son and his mother' but he’s drawing a blank.
"Aizawa?" Tsukauchi carefully asks after a moment and Shouta shakes his head in confusion.
"Excuse me? My what now?"
