Summary
With Gerrard gone, Tommy decides to stay with the 118 - Captain Nash seems nice, and he wants to really repair his relationships with Hen and Chim. He's doing his best to live the life of an out and (almost) proud queer man when he meets him. On scene, of all things - with a live grenade, an ambulance, and a cute, badass Navy SEAL barging in to save their asses.
Tommy is immediately interested. It helps that Evan seems tooor tommy never leaves 118, buck actually makes it as a seal and they meet when a man gets a live grenade stuck in his leg. it evolves from there (and ends with lots of cringe flirting and some kisses)

Buck dropped the tools he was holding, startling Hen, Chimney, and Eddie with the loud noise, but Buck didn’t care. He wasn’t worried about anyone giving him a weird look. He wasn’t worried about what anyone was doing or saying, actually. Not when his sister, his big sister who he hadn’t seen in almost 15 years, was standing in the bay doors and covering her mouth with her hand as tears gathered in her eyes, suitcase abandoned by her feet. Suddenly he was 11 years old again, his sister watching him with tears in her eyes as she walked away. But here she was. In LA. At his firehouse. Coming toward him instead of walking away.

Hearing that word made Evan flinch. His parents would use it all the time and no matter how many times Maddie said their parents were the difficult ones the word still made him sad. He couldn’t even speak anymore, he wished this was all a dream.
“Go.” Dad commands finally, leaving the car to open Evan’s door for him.
Evan makes his way towards the building with the big red trucks and feels a deep sadness in his stomach.

"Right," Buck nodded, trying to get himself sitting up a bit straighter and having to bite back a groan at the motion, "Would you mind dropping me off somewhere on your way to work?"
"Yeah, of course, but where do you plan on going right after a run without cleaning up?" Tommy asked right as Buck managed to get his fingers around the wallet which he was 95% sure had his insurance card in it.
"Uh," Buck said, trying his best to sound casual, "The hospital."

Buck spent his life searching for a place to belong, and the fire academy was his last hope. But when sensory overload from his heightened senses caused him to fail out, he’d had enough.
He retreated into his wolf form, seeking solace in Griffith Park and finally living a life free from the need for anyone’s validation.
However, his self-imposed isolation was shattered when a little girl went missing in the park and firefighters responded. Buck intended to let them handle it, but when he caught the scent of a mountain lion, he knew he might be the girl’s only chance of survival.
Buck left the confrontation wounded and hurt, reminded that he wasn’t “pack.” But the sentiment didn’t seem to be one the firefighter Tommy agreed with as he searched for Buck the next day.

There was a rustling in the bushes on the edge of the yard and then a very large dog walked in. No. Not a large dog. That was a wolf. A werewolf.
It had sandy fur and glowing gold eyes and he was walking right towards Buck and Christopher.
Eddie was so stupid. He thought taking Christopher away from his family would mean they could get away from all of this. Christopher was not cut out to be a hunter like the rest of the Diaz’s and Eddie had never really fit in with that lifestyle.
But now, seeing that werewolf going after the two people who meant the most to him- he wished he had his old weapons on him. He had just made the decision to fight it off by hand (it wasn’t an alpha, so there wasn’t a risk of him turning) when it walked up to Buck and started rubbing his head against him until Buck started petting him. What the hell?

Evan’s voice is small, tight with fear, and it makes Tommy want to throw up. The hallway is dim, but he knows it’s already too late. Knows Evan has already seen his eyes glow at the end of the hall, his hunched form still perfectly visible. Tommy turns his head away, shame coiling hotly in his gut. He opens his mouth, forcing himself to speak around the prolonged teeth. His gums itch with the urge to bite.
