As soon as the first waves of relief had washed away (he was back after all these months, he was here and he was alive) and she saw the look in his eyes, she knew something had changed. He was relieved too, happy to see her, but where for the past fifteen years there had been a steady fire burning behind his eyes, all those flames of passion now seemed gone.
