Luci had been expelled from Heaven beforehand and both he and Michael started preparing for their big battle. One must kill the other and all that bullshit. Stiles didn't care for the apocalypse. There was nothing keeping him upstairs anymore so he decided to ditch and wandered the Earth with the humans, waiting for his true vessel.
