Summary
He knew— he knew — that no one would come. They think he’s weird, they leave him out, and Meguru doesn’t really like them either. Of course they wouldn’t show up. They only invite him to their own parties because their parents force them to. Meguru’s not an idiot, but it still hurts to admit they probably binned the invites the minute he turned away.
So he looks down at the table, traces the sticky stains across the grain, and tries to pretend he doesn’t exist.
“Woah!” A voice shouts, young and sort of squeaky, “Is that a football cake? That’s so cool!”
TLDR; no one shows up to bachira's tenth birthday. some curious kid he befriends at the arcade makes sure he has a great day anyway.
