After the explosion, Dr Robotnik learnt three things in quick succession:
1. A sufficiently large detonation combined with a sufficiently large amount of Chaos Energy creates a wormhole through which one can travel (or be sucked at the last second) to a parallel universe relatively safely.
2. Earth seemed to stay pretty consistent across most universes.
3. It appeared that, after a life of self-imposed seclusion in the manner of a gizmo-ridden, super-genius, hermetic monk, when it came down to brass tacks, Dr Robotnik was hard-pushed to tell the difference between most Earths.Dr Robotnik jumps through universes to try and get back home, confronting his feelings for Agent Stone along the way.

“We are,” Jim says, so obviously delighted. He’s grinning away, not a care in the world. Just the look of him makes Spock’s insides feel— lighter. “It’s not my fault you get all embarrassed every time I look at you.” Jim leans in closer, elbow bracing him against the silver wall. “Do you have a crush on me, Mr. Spock?”
