Summary
Yusuf is in the ocean, drowning; he has been in the ocean, drowning, for five hundred years. Nicky knows this. So when Merrick captures Nicky, the last thing he expects to find in Merrick's lab is Yusuf, let alone a Yusuf who is whole, well, and taunting the guards in modern English. As they work together to make their escape, rejoin their family, and keep themselves safe from Merrick's greed, Nicky cannot help but wonder: exactly how long Yusuf has been free? And if he did escape the coffin before Merrick could find him, why did he never come to find Nicky?

Summary
His stay of execution is over, then. Joe tries for another stall, offering a polite, "Sorry about that, I had a coworker who needed—" but gets no further than that before Andy cuts him off.
"I know you too well for this, Joe," Andy says, which is true, and also enough to make him fall totally silent and listen. After a second, she goes on, "Done making excuses now?"
Joe swallows. "Yeah, boss."
"Good," Andy says. "We need to talk about Nicky being dead."
(Or: In a world where ghosts have always existed alongside the living, Nicky goes missing and his ghost comes home weeks later. In the aftermath of this, Joe has to navigate what it means that the love of his life is dead but not gone—especially given that Nicky doesn't seem to realize he's a ghost.)

Summary
The facts of the matter are this:
1. Yusuf is an unmated Omega,
2. Yusuf is in love with Nicolò,
and, unfortunately for Yusuf,
3. Nicolò is not attracted to Omegas.So when Yusuf mentions that being unmated is an inconvenience, he truly never expects the conversation to spiral to Nicolò offering him a mating mark out of friendship. No one is that good hearted!
...except, apparently, for Nicolò.
Perhaps it's a terrible mistake, to accept the offer and have just a taste of what Yusuf wants most in the world. Perhaps Yusuf is going to break his own heart in the process.
...still. If Nicolò is willing to offer Yusuf almost everything Yusuf has ever dreamed of, what is Yusuf going to do, say no?

"There's a job I could use you on." When Joe hums out an encouraging note, Andy goes on, "A mortal, trapped Underhill and unwilling, according to his sister. A kid." Ah. Joe's specialty, unfortunately.
"Summer court?" Joe asks, willing to be optimistic when he's feeling this tired. If it's Summer, Joe can probably get this sorted out within the week—at a cost, of course, but then nothing of value comes without one, not with the fair folk.
Andy shakes her head. "Winter."

INLAND EMPIRE - There’s moisture beading at the corners of your lips: drool, gathering behind the gag, not yet spilling down the stubbled skin of your chin. It ought to look pathetic; it does, in a way. Seeing your jaw straining against the restraint, your throat working futilely to try to swallow your own saliva before it can spill past your stretched lips. It is pathetic. And yet, as a driving-glove clad hand moves to your jaw and uses its grip to tilt your face upwards—as a soft, familiarly lilting voice says, “That’s better,” and one finger taps against the gag silencing you—the look on your face doesn’t strike you as pathetic at all.
EMPATHY [Medium: Success] - It’s grateful.

Fic titles are stolen from two different songs: Sun in an Empty Room by The Weakerthans, and Like the Dawn by The Oh Hellos. The series title is also cribbed from that first song. I claim no originality in my naming choices, and highly recommend both songs to anybody who wants to give them a listen.

“And why would he do that?” Will asks, but it comes out weak, “He’ll either… Sense that it’s a trap and ignore it, or he’ll be disinterested. He tried to kill me Jack, why would he return if he got what he wanted? He has no reason to… To care about me. About that.”
“I know that he will want to be sure. And I know as well as you do that he didn’t intend to kill you that night. Even if he senses a trap, he’ll consider himself too clever to be caught. He will come back for you. To claim you, one way or another.”

OR: After the events of Mizumono (S2E13), Jack goes a little off the rails. In an effort to lure Hannibal back and save Will from himself, he kidnaps Will and fakes his death. His plan works, but not in the way he expects...

Summary
Shortly after Will kills Garret Jacob Hobbs, he and Hannibal stumble into a D/s relationship. It's a relief to have Hannibal telling him what to do, but the closer they become, the closer he gets to realizing who and what Hannibal really is.
