Summary
“I would have let you,” Erik says.
“What do you mean?”
“When I was a boy.”
Istvan pauses.
It hadn't happened, but Erik had thought about it.
It hadn't happened, but, in the dark of his tent and in the dark corners of his mind, Istvan, too, had thought about it…
“How do you think that might have gone?”
Istvan and Erik allow themselves to explore a what-if that takes them to places both old and new.

Summary
There was no good word for what Istvan was to Erik. He'd been the end of one life and the start of another. He'd provided for him, taught him, molded him. They were alike, but not the same.
He might have remained caught, unsure if he wanted to be Istvan or be with Istvan, had Istvan not left him behind to go on crusade and in his absence, left Erik's feelings to grow into something uncontrollable.
A collection of scenes from 1391-1399.

Summary
"What is the most important thing in a fight?" Istvan asked.
It was not pure strength, Erik knew. There was a man in Istvan's company, slender and hardly taller than Erik, who was so quick with a shortsword that he always outlasted heavily armored men in the training yard. Not skill, either. It didn't matter how often a man practiced or what he knew about the sword if his opponent was stronger, quicker, didn't have the sun in his eyes, had slipped into his quarters in the night, had planned ahead with poisons or reinforcements—
Well, there was more, but Erik realized that Istvan didn't necessarily mean a physical fight. Conversations were fights. Istvan said fighting with words was more fun than swords, because the field changed constantly. (Though Erik had seen him kill men with a longsword, and Istvan seemed just as pleased doing that.) Strength mattered in those fights, too, because a man could intimidate with his height and threaten with just a look.
The answer came to him. Erik sat up straighter.
"Advantage," he said.
Erik learns how to swim, how to wield a sword, and what kind of man he wants to be.

Summary
“
“Good god, Henry, again already? Still feels like you sucked my soul out of my cock with your arsehole.”“Don‘t say it like that. I thought it was romantic,” Henry grinned, and wiped a bead of sweat off Hans’ brow with his thumb. In a display of infinite and glorious romance, he licked it.
“Thought you were about to pop, your face was so red, Sir Hans,” Henry snickered.
Hans threaded a gentle hand in the overgrown hairs on the back of Henry’s head, and wrung his neck, just a little.
“Someone fancies himself a minstrel, huh? I’m going to set Pebbles loose and make you walk back. Get in a good squeeze, because this is the last you'll be seeing of my backside.”
“A fine backside it was, my lord. I’ll miss it dearly.”
“
Hans takes to planning an outing to woo Henry. To spectacular results.
