The next wave of scent hits and he freezes. It’s rich. Too rich; there’s a ripe undercurrent of sweetness that sets him on high alert. He does calculations in his head, counting dates. It can’t be right, but there’s no mistake; Ainosuke is in pre-heat. The realization immediately sets off waves of both desire and panic.
He clears his throat gently. “Ainosuke-sama, did you forget your suppressants?”
“Hmm?” There’s a flicker of something in the omega’s eyes. Irritation? Satisfaction? Tadashi can’t be sure. “Oh. Is it that time again? It must have slipped my mind. I’ve been so busy lately.”
