There, Hob learns of Dream's time in captivity, but his attempts at comforting Dream lead to them sleeping together. This starts a relationship where their respective traumas and difficulties to communicate pose challenges, but through efforts on both their parts, they can learn how to be comfortable with one another.

“Fine. I’ll send them away. You win.” Klaus’ voice echoed through the car. He wouldn’t let Stefan do this to me. Even if he was being selfish, he wasn’t going to let me die.
I glanced at the road, then at Stefan, but he wasn’t slowing down. “Stefan!” Klaus had agreed to his terms; he would do as he asked. But he wasn’t stopping. “Stefan, stop!”
“Stop the car, Stefan," Klaus screaming down the phone was the last words that I heard.

What if when Stefan threatened to turn Elena into a vampire by driving off Wickery Bridge he did? Elena wakes up in transition, knowing that her choice was ripped away from her by one of the people she thought she could trust the most.

She got in a fight with Stefan (again), they broke up, she's failing half her classes, and, oh yeah, there's the tiny issue of possibly being sacrificed in some ancient ritual. No big deal.
But when she starts receiving over-the-top luxury gifts from a ridiculously rich, way-too-good-looking admirer (cough, Elijah), things suddenly don’t seem quite so bad. Besides, who needs normal when you’ve got a sugar daddy Original at the tip of your fingers?

Hob seemed to be the only one to notice him, the older looking man drifting in and out of the funeral, disappearing in between moments, never in the same space as one of The Endless.
One chance meeting later, Hob petitions Time to send him back to try and change Dream’s fate. Betting on the immortal’s inevitable failure and being an absolute arse of a cosmic being, Time does send him back. A few thousand years too early.
Or—
Sometimes altering the past makes everything worse before it gets better.
Alternatively titled: Hob’s semi-accidental sexcapades through time while desperately attempting to change history so Morpheus doesn’t die.
