Mike & Will take a long road trip to find a heartbroken Jonathan.
Their relationship is awkward again. Especially when they have to stay in motels. With only one bed.Will is still in love with Mike and doing everything he can not to be.
Mike has no clue—and that might be the problem.
A slow burn about tension, jealousy, and nightmares.-
Will's skin was clammy, cold despite the heat rolling off him. Mike hesitated only a second before pushing the blanket aside and climbing onto the edge of the bed, careful, like he was afraid of doing the wrong thing.
"Is this okay?" he asked, already sitting beside him.
Will nodded, barely.
Mike shifted closer, bracing one hand against the mattress. "Breathe with me, okay?" he said. "In. Slow."
Will tried. His breaths hitched, uneven.
Mike mirrored him anyway.
In. Out.

Will is confused, has been confused since Mike asked to watch this movie in the first place, and Mike’s vagueness isn’t helping him come to any conclusion.
“Make what a big deal?” Will inquires.
Mike bites his lower lip in embarrassment. “Kissing.”

“I mean,” Will says slowly, “we could go. Just for a bit.”
That’s the deciding vote.
Mike swallows hard, pride bruised and aching. He forces the jealousy down, packs it away somewhere tight and sharp in his chest, where it can’t spill out and make things worse. He nods once, stiffly, lips pressed into a thin line that he hopes passes for a smile.
“Yeah,” he says, even though the word tastes bitter. “Sure, sounds fine.”
or; Mike isn’t on board with going to that party, so he suggests staying in the basement to play instead, except this time, they actually go. And he is jealous.
