What kind of immersive dream had left him believing that he was feline even upon waking? It was ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous. He would stand up, return back to where he had camped down, collect his bag and finish flying back to Cang Qiong. In just a moment. He just needed a moment to reorient himself. Just a moment.
A bird exploded out of the tall grasses nearby. Startled, Liu Qingge leapt into the air, a yowl tearing its way from his throat. He landed on all fours, claws extended and fangs bared, the fur down his spine standing on end. He could see his front paws now, the grey striped fur of his forelegs. Denial was impossible in the face of such evidence. Somehow, as he slept, Liu Qingge had been transformed into a cat. -
