The light hums and flickers above the table where Joker sits patiently. He looks bored, one leg crossed over the other. “You were saying?”
“You seem awfully composed for having just taken a bullet to the head,” Akechi notes with a frown.
The prisoner shrugs. “It wasn’t anything I haven’t seen before.”
The comment shouldn’t bother him, but Akechi finds himself partly insulted nonetheless. “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I was meant to entertain my mark before killing them.”
“I’d rather you not kill me at all, actually,” Joker says with a bitter look. Akechi scoffs.
“Oh, don’t be such a baby, it’s not like it matters anyways,” he says dryly.

Summary
It only takes one wrong step for everything to be thrown off course, even if that step occurs so close to the finale. Joker has fallen and the Thieves have lost themselves again, only Akechi remains to finish what they started. But such a daunting task can't be tackled alone.
Akechi finds himself a year into Maruki's actualized reality after trying to take the tyrant on by himself. The hearts and wills of the Thieves have been scattered and buried and Joker is nowhere to be found. His only hope is to reconnect the Thieves with their forgotten selves, but is such a thing even possible this far into the end?

Still, he doesn't completely let his guard down. In just one word, he can already tell Tenna sounds… afraid. "Speaking. What's up, Cathode?"
"I can't appear on set today. Can you let everyone know? I should still be able to give cues and operate the lights from Mike's room… I think. I hope."

"Work with me here, Tens. Can't be gentle if you're moving all around," Spamton said, a hint of playful warning in his words. He peeked up at Tenna through his too-long lashes, a grin on his face. "Unless." He tugged experimentally hard on a wire, and Tenna's mouth burst open with a loud huff, his screen flushing bright red.
"You little jerk!" Tenna exclaimed, smacking Spamton upside the head in response. "Warn a man before you do something like th-a-a-a..." He trailed off as Spamton stroked a couple of wires, his hand expertly gliding across the smooth rubber casing. "You're impossible."
"Only for you, Tens," Spamton yanked the handful of wires out of their places and leaned his face down, planting soft butterfly kisses that made Tenna writhe in pleasure.Series
