Summary
It was weird to think about.
Despite being from a planet like Lysatra that thrives on its peoples connections to one other and their family, Eli never really wanted one. He didn’t understand how people were so easily interested in making a family or having children.
But in the end, he wouldn’t need another person. He adopted Un’hee, and they had each other, that was enough.
Right?

Summary
Grand Admiral Thrawn had many reasons for sending Eli Vanto to the Chiss Ascendancy. All of them made good tactical sense. Well, most of them. Some of them. One of them. Maybe.
Or: a Thranto fic costarring Thrass, who knows his little brother better than anyone, and Admiral Ar'alani being so incredibly done with these eccentrics from House Mitth.

Summary
“I thought you were going to sleep.”
Ezra, pinned by that glowing gaze, shrugs. “I’m not really all that tired anymore.”
The excuse goes over about as well as he expected. “Your inquisitive nature suggests it is instead the desire to eavesdrop that keeps you from returning to your quarters.”
“Can you blame me?” He gestures at the two of them. Since it’s pointless to deny it, he might as well confront honesty with honesty. “You’re not usually like…” he can’t exactly describe how Thrawn is acting. It’s not out of character, it’s just… more.
“Am I not allowed the comfort of an old friend?” Thrawn asks. His tone betrays his impatience, edged as it is with a rare hint of irritation.

Summary
Since his promotion to Lieutenant Commander, Eli's mood seems to have taken a downturn. Thrawn has noticed this. He contemplates the cause, then sets off to put it right. Along the way, they chat books, decorate a room, and do a lot of talking about Lysatra.
(aka, Eli is sad, homesick, and touch-starved; Thrawn fixes one of these things).

Summary
This is far from the first formal event he’s attended as Thrawn’s translator. Playing that role is just about where the similarities end, however. Those have been Imperial events. Sure the hosts change, but after the first couple, the patterns became predictable, almost boring even. Thrawn is either paraded about the room or left mostly to hover and observe, depending on the type of event and the scale of his most recent military success. And as much as Eli hates the way Thrawn is treated as some kind of trophy, he’s learned how to get through it.
But this is something else entirely.
Or: When Thrawn and Eli go undercover to infiltrate a fancy party, things quickly get more complicated than either of them had planned.
