Summary
Hajime believes there are truly very few things in life that can surprise him anymore. As usual, Komaeda is one of them.
Or: Nagito locks himself in a cage, and Hajime finds out he has some deep, forgotten kinks. He is as determined to try and ignore them as he is to help Komaeda. With an internally screaming Hajime and a pining Nagito, shenanigans ensue.
(This is a longer, slow burn canon-compliant post dr3 piece, with a generally fluffy, comforting take on komahina & the cast living on the island. There's pining, a lot of pining. Plot happens. A lot of things happen, actually. Oh, and bdsm. That too :) )

"Hey, Hinata-kun."
Hinata notices that when Komaeda walks, the sound of the sand beneath the soles of his shoes is a little grating. It sounds a little more like metal than it does sand, something that should probably be more disquieting than it is. He focuses on that sound instead of the feelings swelling up in his chest, good and bad and something in between.
Komaeda walks at him in a straight line, like there's a tightrope no one else but him can see. If Hinata squints, maybe he can see it. Gone is the stability of the past. He gets the sinking sense that this world is beginning to crumble.
"Do you really believe that I'm not the same Nagito Komaeda you knew?"

"The hell are you doing looking all damn gloomy in the corner?" Kuzuryuu spoke in his usual brusque speech. Komaeda blinked at him as Kuzuryuu invited himself to one of the empty chairs, unceremoniously dropping down onto it.
"I'm not doing anything in particular," Nagito replied with ease. He gestured to his still full teacup. "Just enjoying my tea. It is a tea party, I'm sure that's mostly the point."
Some social events just weren't for everybody (though that doesn't stop Kuzuryuu from complaining).
