Why would someone who could fly land on a roof just to walk to the edge? With those vaccinent eyes and a smile that doesn’t seem real the only answer he can come to doesn’t sit right in his gut, however he doesn’t have time to consider other possibilities as Nice gets closer and closer. If Enlighter is right he has to act now.

    The robes are uncomfortable, the scent blockers are undignified, and the system might be an idiot.

    Still, he has twelve years before the demon protagonist shows up. That’s time enough to fix this mess. Hopefully.

    Shen Qingqiu rolled his eyes. His vision swam, spinning in a rush of bright colors and hazy shapes. He started to tip backwards, no longer certain where the floor was. A laugh bubbled out of his chest as his weight slipped further and his stomach swooped. Liu Qingge jolted, hands wrapping around Shen Qingqiu's waist. They were so warm. The heat seeped through his robes in a way that made Shen Qingqiu shiver.

    "Shen Qing—"

    Shen Qingqiu whipped his hands up to cover Liu Qingge's mouth. "Shhhhhh. Thats not right. You're supposed to say shixiong, ok? Shixiong."

A few girls tend to the customers on the floor, smiling sweetly as they listen to their stories and sit only a little closer than propriety would typically allow. On a small stage, across the room, a young woman plays the pipa with precise, careful fingers with her delicately painted eyes downcast towards the instrument and her lips parted in concentration.

    He has never seen her here before, and for a moment Shen Jiu’s fingers twitch, itching for a brush he doesn’t have—the image she paints so picturesque he finds himself longing to immortalize it. Surely, though, if he did, she would only laugh a soft, sweet laugh, and tell him how he flatters her, all while pushing the painting back into his arms.

    After a Qi deviation, Shen Qingqiu regresses into his 12 year old self, just after he was sold to the Qiu household, with no memories of his life up until that point. Trapped, he believes he has been sold one more time. When the other peak lords discover him in the bamboo hut, they immediately assume the worst: their fellow peak lord has taken in an underage girl for nefarious reasons. Enraged, they launch an investigation against Shen Qingqiu, vowing to bring him to justice in the absence of Yue Qingyuan.

    With no memories to support or deny this claim, Shen Jiu plays along, leveraging the righteous cultivators' outrage for his own survival. He is taken in as a disciple of Xuan Shu peak, where he is forced to come to terms with his own past traumas, and experiences related to his gender. For so long he pretended to be a boy, will he be able to find comfort in his girlhood now?

    When the truth finally comes to light, will Shen Jiu be able to face himself? Will his martial family?
