Set after the events of the anime/chapter 67 of the manga, this one-shot is meant to fill in some of the blanks of Sherlock and William's time in New York. Specifically, the part where they realize their feelings for each other lol.

Blood.
It was everywhere, suspended in a blur of curling tendrils and clouds like crimson cigarette smoke, and please god, let it be his own, this time.
Let the wound be his.
Let his hands be numb but cleansed, finally, in waters that would end his abhorrent life.
William closed his eyes and felt himself surrender to it once more.
And, just like every other time he’d found himself sinking, hopeless, dying …
Warmth embraced his face. There was light again, and a figure — that angelic image, haloed above him, and then contact at his lips —
Heat coursed through his chest, and he gasped raggedly against the mouth of a man whom he was — physically — little more than acquainted with, and yet — existentially — seemed stitched soul to soul.

Summary
Floriography: An Illustrated Guide is the first book William takes from the shelf. It’s relatively thin, but the detailed etchings inside prove to be helpful when William flips past the pages. It’s difficult, at first, to narrow down the possible candidates from William’s reference of a single petal, but he manages to bring it down to five, then three, then two, then one.
Anemone is the name neatly inscribed in cursive at the top of the page. William’s fingers brush across the letters as he reads the information on the page—natural habitat, flowering conditions, range of colors, meaning—
William’s fingers still.
Anemones symbolize a forsaken love.
William reads the line, then reads it again. For good measure, he reads it a third time.

Summary
Despite his general behavior suggesting otherwise, Jiji was quite perceptive. He could see the way Momo and Okarun looked at each other when they thought the other wasn’t watching — and he was unfortunately perceptive about his own feelings, too. He needed to get over his clearly unrequited feelings for Momo Ayase, and helping Okarun gain the confidence to ask her out was the perfect way to do so. Maybe he’d even get closer to Okarun in the process!
