Chan laid his hand softly on the small of Felix’s back, rubbing it lazily. Felix made a sleepy sound as he snuggled further into his pillow. He grabbed the corner of his pillow and stuffed it into his mouth to suck on. Chan looked around for the little’s pacifier, replacing the pillow with the light yellow paci when he found it. Smiling at the cute sucking noises the little made, he turned his attention to his other boyfriend.
He leaned over their youngest boyfriend in the middle to kiss Minho sweetly on the lips, not caring that both of them probably had morning breath. “Good morning, love.”

Dennis lays in the bed with a stillness so absolute it feels staged. A ventilator breathes for him in measured sighs, the sound too rhythmic to be human. It almost looks like he’s a kid pretending to sleep in the backseat of his parents’ car, hoping to be carried inside by strong paternal arms.
Robby would do anything for that to be the case. Instead, it is sedation that has smoothed away the sharpness from Dennis’s features.
It is a heart attack that has made him so still.

He tries to speak, not to answer the question but to ask for help, help, anyone, anyone at all, his mom or one his brothers or the youth pastor who gives him bandages when no one is looking, just, God, please, please—
The best Dennis can manage is a deep gurgle from his throat.
