Summary
After a massive argument with Bruce post-mission, Jason leaves Gotham to get away from his family. He ends up at one of the Outlaws’ safehouses in the country. Spending the holidays alone sounds just fine to him this year.
Jason’s plans to work on some cold cases, fix up an old motorcycle, and generally brood go awry when he wakes up to find a goat named Vincent in his kitchen eating his groceries. Suddenly he’s meeting his neighbors, Imogen “Mo” Evans, an artist who also has a growing number of rescue animals on her farm, and her four-year-old daughter Delaney. His idea of a lone wolf Christmas begins to be erased as he winds up spending more time at their place than his and getting pulled into the town’s cozy winter traditions.
Mo knows her new neighbor has secrets, but doesn’t everybody? She’s stubborn and feisty, but she doesn’t mind some extra help around the farm. Plus Delaney seems to like the new guy. And if Mo’s honest with herself, she’s becoming increasingly fond of Jason Todd, too.
As it gets closer to Christmas, Jason’s siblings start playing an altered game of Sardines, where everyone tries to find Jason but not tell anyone else where he is.

Fourteen-year-old Dick clapped his hands to his face. “Whoa, books! I had no idea that’s what they were called, that’s so amazing—I’m serious.” He turned toward Bruce. “I think we have a poltergeist.”
Jason’s tail flicked excitedly, the spade end of it nearly smacking into a table leg. “Yesss. Can we hunt it?”

Damian frowns at him. “No?”
“Real tall guy,” the Joker suddenly pipes up from the holding cell, “white streak in his hair. Kinda looks like Bruce Wayne, if you ask me!”
Damian blinks. “Oh. Well, I do know a Jason that fits that description, but his last name is not Todd.”
“What the hell is it then?”
Damian frowns harder. “Al Ghul.”
And just like that, Bruce’s worldview goes to complete and utter shit.

Or: Jason decides that if someone has to be a monster in this world’s shadows, it might as well be him. This decision might’ve been influenced by the fact that Talia al Ghul decided to spring her son on him and also gaslight everyone into believing that Jason is her eldest child. Also, he kills his pseudo-grandfather and kind of accidentally becomes the new R’as al Ghul, because by now, he’s way too deep in Talia’s con-shit to back out.
…It all goes over surprisingly well.
