Even if work is hectic, marriage isn't only sunshine, and raising a teen is nerve-racking, it's still something she appreciates every day for the joy it brings her. Rewarding in every sense in the grand scheme of things. Especially when she got to kick back on a sunny weekend, drink in hand, while she cheered on her daughter scampering around and appreciated the boundless enthusiasm of Vi getting adorably too invested along the sidelines. The only part she doesn't enjoy all that much is the way others appreciate Vi's presence as well.

“I’m sorry, I think you’ve got the wrong number,” the woman cut her off.
Vi felt her face go so hot she was sure that it was visibly steaming in the winter air. Of course it was a fucking wrong number - just the cherry on top of an already shit morning. She struggled to conjure up some sort of apology. Instead, what came out was, “Oh. Well, thank god, because I was feeling really bad about yelling at someone who sounds so sexy.”
As soon as the words left her mouth she wished she had a spare hand to cram them back inside. She was considering just abruptly hanging up when a breathy chuckle filtered across the line.
“Awfully bold for someone who’s ranting about cement to a stranger at eight o’clock in the morning.”

“I hardly had to beg,” Vi said daringly, proudly flashing that arrogance that was always simmering under the surface. Again, Cait scoffed. She could keep going alright. The real challenge was how would she stop?
Blood dotted all over Vi's breasts and ran down her ribs, the red dark and delicious against the mixed hues of her skin. Beneath the blood, pink tinted her body all over, and purple bruises bloomed and faded into mottled yellow sporadically. If anybody should have been called Cupcake, it was Vi. With the way the colourful hues were sprinkled all over her, and her blood was quite literally the icing on top, Vi looked good enough to eat – and, well… Cait was starving.
"You will," she promised, before diving back down.

The images cleared as the knight held the hand that subconsciously tightened around her own neck. Her touch was so gentle despite the pain Caitlyn was inflicting on her.
