Abolish took Shelby’s hand again, giving it a gentle squeeze. “I’ll see you in a couple of days, okay?”
“Yeah,” Shelby let the word leave her in a sigh, tilting her head up to look at Abolish, feeling her cheeks warm ever so slightly. “I just wish you didn't always have to go. You could just stay here, with us… we have the space, and then I wouldn’t always have to be missing you. Worrying about you.”
Abolish’s eyes softened, and he gently brought his hand to cup her cheek, smiling when she leaned into his touch, purring softly.
“I’ll be okay,” he whispered, rubbing a thumb over her cheek, seemingly unaware of the way he was making her stomach flutter. “You really don’t need to worry about me.”
“...I know,” she pressed her hand over his, holding it to her skin. “But I do anyway.”Or: around Christmastime, Abolish and Shelby communicate through their yearning... a little more than usual. Still not much. But it's a start.

What the title says! Extra scenes from Army Dreamers, written by me, Temerity, the beta reader and giver of bad ideas and snark! I love AD but sometimes I really wish more people than just Aria and I know what's going on with the other characters (doc is great but kinda oblivious sometimes (all the time)), so I write down the ideas I really like :D
Chapter one (set between 9 and 10 of AD): Owen's reaction to Leg's house being set on fire. He takes it well (lies)
Chapter two (set between 10 and 11 of AD): Owen drags Shelby along to find cool rocks, and gets teased about his not-boyfriend. Plus some Scott&Shelby cuteness.
Chapter three (between 14 and 15 of AD): Avid and Shelby talk and have cuddles by the river. Martyn comes to her for help.
Chapter four (pre-ch15): Scott finds two fledglings hiding in his coffin and has a few thoughts about life.
Chapter five (set immediately after/during chapter 18): Drift, Shelby, and Avid have a long overdue chat; the gay vampires' taste in men is judged heavily

I'm the beta for my friend Aria's wonderful wonderful fic Army Dreamers and though that fic is very much Legundo centric, I was wondering what Owen's thoughts on the. the last chapter would've been. for no particular reason. because nothing happened in chapter 7 nooooo nothing at all nothing that I suggested that was particularly gay nooooooo----
In short: Owen accidentally asks the doctor for something that... breaks vampire social norms, and his reaction to finding out after the fact.

Tomorrow we will go to the castle, and the Queen will naturally send for Tadius to collect us, so that is where we enact the first part of our mission. Then, we have to convince the Queen. A few weeks ago you said she often walked to the river at night, so we shall go there first and talk about how much Tadius loves her while she listens and realises her true feelings!”

All the while King Ezran continues the rebuilding efforts of Katolis while also helping the city of Evrkynd in getting to its feet. Hoards of the dead continue to roam the night, even after the moon nexus was reverted, hunted by an elite task force. To say the Dragon Guard has their hands full would be an understatement.
