Damian had the counter toxin in his grasp by the time his feet hit the ground.
Red Robin was already blocking the alley entrance, still and looming, like the fourth horseman come to collect. The inky black mass of his cape cast a brilliant silhouette under the streetlight.
Damian could do without the cinematic drama.
His right hand flexed around the syringe before he lunged.

“Which way,” Maverick demanded, arms crossed and trembling ever so slightly as his sweat cooled. He’d only just given up shouting Ice’s name angrily into the apathetic wilderness.
Slider held his tongue, squinting down at the tiny, weather-beaten map drilled onto an equally weather-beaten post. The squiggly track lines were so faded he was half convinced he was imagining them.
Maverick sighed pointedly. Slider blindly swung his fist into the space he was sure Maverick had been a second ago.

Ice burst through the door without knocking.
“Mitchell, if you’re asleep I swear to god-”
He froze.
The room was, in a word, ransacked. Dresser drawers, fully removed from the main frame, were emptied onto the floor, their contents seemingly rummaged through then abandoned. Even the wardrobe, home to Mav’s khakis and small collection of formal wear, had been gutted, doors left agape.
It took Ice a few frantic seconds to spot Mav amongst the chaos.

Pete stares at the speakers as the song's first notes start playing, but his brain is looping back the words, rolling the radio name over until it sticks to the warm voice that had spoken it. He removes his hand from the dial.
There's no indication that this man's show will play his regular kind of music; the current song choice directly reflects that belief, but... Pete's always been a sucker for voices, and this Ice fella has a pretty nice one (and if the morbid thought that maybe it'd be a good enough voice to be the last one he hears crosses his mind, that's not for anyone else to worry about.) He lets Lauper croon and sets his paper cup down, ready to get back to work.

Calling Scott was a habit she had weaned herself off of months ago, an impulse easy to stop because it was something she wanted to do so much, and she was no stranger to denying herself things.
Calling Stiles wasn't something she longed to do. It was something she did, just because, usually in response to him calling her first to ask stupid questions or check up on her or sometimes even apologize for stupid things he did. Their calls became sort of a nightly thing, a step to her routine. But that was back then. She hadn’t talked to him in months since. Or anyone really.
