It’s cold.
These rocks, this dark place. That tiny ghost bitch with the stupid hair. It’s all so cold.
Cassandra’s skin feels almost numb over her bones and she duly notices her fingers are encased in a scaly, reptile-like glove, as is the rest of her body. She’s almost sure if she pulled the gloves off her pale fingers would be blood red and trembling from the cold. She doesn’t remove them.
Instead, she trains, the same as every day. She trains, she forages for scraps of food, and she sleeps, however fitfully. It’s like clockwork.
