Which it was, but Storm’s End was massive, more grim than magnificent, in a way similar to Winterfell. They said it had been constructed by Durran Godsgrief, who’d taken Elenei to wed, and faced the wrath of the gods by doing so. The children of the forest were said to have helped fortify the walls with magic, so that no storm might ever topple it.
And then some said Bran the Builder, who’d founded Edda’s house, had helped to construct the impenetrable fortress. She felt some sense of belonging, looking at it, so maybe the legends were true.

Titania Snape was having a secret affair with Sirius Black at the time and was caught by surprise with the news about the deaths of her best friend Lily, her husband and the betrayal of her lover, who was now in Azkaban.
A few weeks later Snape finds herself pregnant of Sirius, the man who filled her heart with void promises before crushing it into tiny little pieces.
Ignorant about his innocence, Titania ends up choosing to keep the baby anyway, hiding from the world who was the real father.
Twelve years later, Sirius Black escapes from Azkaban, and that's when the story will truly begins.

Renfri carefully took them in her hands that were only shaking a little bit now, smearing red onto green stems and yellow petals.Julian clambered into the bed beside her and crawled halfway onto her lap. “I got you flowers, ‘cause you’re so pretty like them!”
“These aren’t flowers, they’re weeds.” Renfri told him, rolling her eyes but allowing the contact with ease. Somedays it seemed like Julian was the only person in the entire castle who wasn’t afraid of her.
“They look like flowers.” He said, crinkling his nose.
“They’re dandelions,” Renfri informed her brother with a tiny smile, “They grow everywhere, even places they perhaps shouldn’t. That’s why they’re a weed.”
“Perhaps they’re a little like you,” She teased, “Growing in even the scariest of places with no fear.” Like a monster’s heart, she doesn’t say.
“Like a superpower!” Julian gasped.
Renfri separated one dandelion from the little clutch and reached out to tuck it behind a little ear. “For the stubborn hero, Jaskier.”

When Jaskier was seven years old, his mother had told him that the Yaruga barely, if ever at all, freezes over. When he had asked why, his mother had smiled and said “great rivers never freeze Julian, only if you anger them.”
On his eighth birthday, Jaskier watches as his mother sinks into the Yaruga river. On his forty-third, his body sinks into the river bed, covered in nothing but blood and dirt. His unseeing eyes look into the murky waters of the Yaruga. He does not feel the arms cradling him, nor does he feel the whispers of a voice he has not heard in decades.
And for the first time in years, frost begins to creep on the surface of Yaruga.

OR Jaskier's inabilty to age normally like humans do has an explanation, and Geralt and Yennefer need to read up on River Gods before they have another war on top of the budding Nilfgaard invasion in their hands.

And so came it to pass that Durin the Deathless, First of Dwarrow-kind, the Eldest of the Seven Fathers, King of Khazad-dûm, found himself unrelentingly bound to a small chunk of blue stone pocketed by one Belladonna Took on her journey home from a well accomplished adventure.
Years, and multiple adventures later, Belladonna Took – by then Belladonna Baggins – settled into Bag End, and gave birth to a child named Bilbo Baggins, to whom this stone was always meant to belong.
It is with this one small Hobbit that the ghostly Durin is to change the tides of Middle Earth, save his legacy, and rewrite this unwritten history before them.
Additionally/And/Or: In which Durin the Deathless does not accept the finality of his lineage and submits his complaints to Mahal and Yavanna.
Becoming glued to a rock and a Hobbit was not part of his request, but he was Too Vague and forgot to Read the Fine Print.
Also, Hobbits are far too endearing even to Ancient Mostly Dead Monarchs.
Finally, and most importantly, to any Dwarf asking, it isn't technically breaking any rules if the ghost beside you works as a translator for super secret Dwarvish languages.
