He might have a chance to do everything again, now, though...He would never hold anything but bitterness for the title of 'dad,' but maybe an older brother could make things better.

He could feel Al’s presence through their soulbond, a faint tingle of worry at the back of his head, spiking into something like alarm, possibly in response to Ed waking up. He didn’t seem particularly distressed though, at least not more than a good old-fashioned kidnapping warranted.

“Yeah, you’re right, I’m traveling. Been tons of places.” Setting down his suitcase, Edward begun patting down his vest, proceeding to comb his fingers over long, sleep-frazzled locks of hair, and tighten his ponytail holder; a bright, rubbery red thing.
“As for who’s waiting for you?”
Picking up his suitcase and pacing a few steps forward, Ed’s face contorted into a different, more smug expression. The suddenly large, wolf-toothed and almost unknowingly mischievous smile gracing his features almost just slightly hinting as to what he would say next--
“The emperor.”
--Four years after the Promised Day, Edward Elric finally gets around to visiting Xing. It spirals into feelings he doesn't want to acknowledge, old wounds reopening, and a few new ones as well. Literally.

Summary
Being brought to Truth's realm after three years following the Promised Day was not something Ed expected to happen. Especially when Truth offers him a deal to get his gate back.
This Thanos guy with his special stones is added to Ed's frequently used shit list.
Let's just hope these stones aren't anything like the philosopher's stones, but if they are, Ed knows how to deal with them. And if they aren't, he'll figure them out like he does with everything else.
