So much softness between them. Especially loved this bit at the end (A+ cockwarming):
He feels the flutter of rising, feels his body relaxing more until he’s certain Yuuri is trapped inside him and he in Yuuri’s embrace. They’re melting and in that cozy space inside his head he knows nothing but the warmth of breath, of a familiar beating heart, of a tight emptiness filled by Yuuri. He drifts with the floating dust particles in the air, with the inhale and exhale of Yuuri’s lungs.

Summary
Viktor Nikiforov and Katsuki Yuuri fall in love at sixteen, leave for different countries at eighteen, and break apart at twenty. It's a typical first love; its fire burning bright then simmering down into embers that leave them cold and empty.
They live their lives, both of them, halfheartedly trying to forget that bittersweet ache, an impossible task with one a world famous model and the other a top tier skater, always in the media's eyes.
When circumstances throw them together ten years later, all it should be is coincidence, slightly awkward and ultimately meaningless.
But Viktor and Yuuri were never good at making things easy for each other, except perhaps falling in love.

When the war between Nohin and Iahwi results in the death of the head Iahwian mage, the Crowned King of Iahwi sends for Yuuri, asking the mage to join them, instead. Disgusted by the Iahwian's preferred practice of heartbinding, he refuses.

“Does it bother you,” Yuuri asks, eyes downcast, “that I’ll never be able to return your flowers?” He looks so sad, shoulders hunched to make himself seem as small as possible, unable to meet his gaze.
Viktor pauses. Perhaps if he had been anyone else—been in love with anyone else—it would be different. But Viktor still vividly remembers the taste of marigolds on his lips, the feeling of thorny vines clawing up his throat until he was doubled over and hacking blood. He imagines what Yuuri must have felt, only fourteen-years-old but drowning in flowers, in love with someone who didn’t even knew he existed. He must have been so frightened, Viktor thinks.
“It doesn’t.”
Wherein Hanahaki is the physical representation of love and Viktor’s been running from flowers all his life.

Something like that, Yuuri replied.
It was terribly strange; the wish lay in Victor’s hand, an inanimate lump of clay. Without the light, it was difficult to know what Yuuri was even supposed to be; there was the approximation of a head with a beak on the end, and a slightly plump body with a pair of uneven leaf-shaped wings carved into each side. There was no warmth to imply a heartbeat encased within Yuuri’s plain exterior, and the ring box didn’t come with instructions or explanations. And yet Victor couldn’t deny that there was a voice in his mind, a concrete sense of presence, which manifested as a rather pleasant buzzing feeling that made him bite back a shy smile.
“What could I wish for?” he murmured in the direction of where Yuuri’s ear might be.
Think of any one thing you want, Yuuri replied, and I can give it to you. -

So moving and sweet.
Viktor strikes me as someone with a lot of love to give, but also someone whose career has made him afraid he is not “enough” on his own merits, so this fic felt like such a great and tangible representation of him realizing that so much of the concept of being loved is choosing to love, as Yuuri tells him.
