Summary
When Yelena finds out she and Kate Bishop are both in town on business, she invites the archer out to dinner, for a fun girls night. It ends up being anything but.
Inspired by “Last Kiss” by J Frank Wilson and The Cavaliers (song.link for your favorite service).
“I should have known this was your idea of a date,” Kate chuckled, before holding on to the door for dear life as Yelena suddenly threw the enormous red stretch limousine in reverse.
“Who said anything about a date?” Yelena countered, as she whipped the car around and turned down an intersecting street.
“You asked me if I wanted to get dinner…”
“You were in town…”
“…and asked me to wear a dress, which I only do for you, by the way…”
“Can I help it if you look killer in that dress? Besides, it reminds me of the night in the elevator, at the Christmas party…”
“…and you pick me up in a limousine…” The show of sentimentality from the blonde surprised Kate, in a good way, but she continued probing nevertheless.

The first time Yelena Belova made Kate Bishop hot chocolate, she tracked down the finest Swiss chocolate in New York. She busied herself in the kitchen for an hour, carefully preparing the concoction, all the while tracking Kate’s position as the New and Improved Hawkeye patrolled the city. Then, as the archer appeared to be making a beeline for the loft, the Widow put on the final touches—just in time for the woman’s arrival.
“Honey, I’m home!” The sweet, silly voice echoed through the open space as the door swung open.

Kate Bishop’s first year as Hawkeye was going great—until it wasn’t. When an old foe arises from the shadows with a sinister new plot, all appears lost for the young hero. It might take a Christmas miracle for her to make it out alive, and the archer isn’t sure she has one of those left to her name.
Aside from those brief flickers of other things, Kate’s entire world was darkness and pain. It hurt to sleep; it hurt to be awake. It hurt to move; it hurt to lie still on the cold, hard floor. It hurt to eat; it hurt to drink. It hurt to breathe. It hurt to exist. And unlike some people who had years of training to make them numb to pain, the archer had no such luxury; she felt it all, every last ache, stab, and throb.
The slow, grating moan of the metal door fighting against its hinges and the doorframe, and then dragging along the concrete floor, piqued Kate’s attention. […] Once the door ceased its groans, the lone lightbulb flickered on, and the archer heard slow, irregular footfalls—as though their owner were taking in the state and/or layout of the sub-basement, rather than coming to bring her another portion of broth and breadcrust.
