They lie in silence for a few moments, the only sound being the steady and slow beating of Shane’s heart on the monitor. He’s perfectly content to just bask in Ilya’s presence and form until the doctor comes back, but eventually, he can feel Ilya staring at him. So he opens his eyes and sees an expectant look on his husband’s face.
“What?” Shane questions.
“Are we going to talk about it?”
Shane’s brows draw down in confusion. “Talk about what?”
A mischievous grin splits Ilya’s face. “That I am your emergency contact.”
“Oh, my god,” Shane groans. “You are not going to make this a thing. It’s not a big deal.”

Or, hockey injuries are temporary. But having Ilya Rozanov as your emergency contact is forever.

“You thought it was cute, fucking with me all week,” Shane bit back.
“Let’s see how cute you are now,” Ilya said with a smirk.
Before Shane could protest, Ilya grabbed a stick and motioned toward the ice.
“Run through that new puck-handling drill. Full speed. Don’t hold back.”OR: Married and finally on the same team, Shane Hollander and Captain Ilya Rozanov are supposed to focus on hockey. Instead, Rozanov decides to treat Shane like a rookie for a week, and Shane isn’t about to play fair. Hazing, teasing, and a lot of flirting ensue.

“Sylvia,” Shane murmured, clearly mortified.
“What?” she said innocently. “I’m just saying. And I’m also saying that a certain someone here, hasn’t stopped staring at someone else since they walked in. Their partner has been doing all of the work.” A brow was quirked towards the Russian paramedic.
Ilya nearly dropped his gauze “Da- I mean no, I—” he started, then stopped, flustered.
Shane looked like he wanted the floor to swallow him whole.
Cliff snorted under his breath and turned away, suddenly very interested in the supply bag.
Sylvia leaned toward Shane. “Ask for his number,” she whispered loudly enough that it wasn’t a whisper at all. “They’ll be taking me away in T-minus five minutes. You don’t wanna miss your shot kiddo!”
Or Shane is a Librarian and Ilya is a Paramedic. They meet , fall in love, have a baby together . Oh and Shane is Autistic and worries a lot.

“Watch yourself, Rozanov,” he says in Russian, voice low and dark, and oh, holy shit, Ilya should have known teaching Shane his native language would be the death of him.
“I would rather watch you.”
Shane moves off the stool he’s been sitting on with one fluid movement. “Not now.”
“Later then?”
Shane rolls his eyes. “Pervert.”
“Not what you said an hour ago.”
Ilya feels Shane’s foot bump into his, and their thighs brush just barely. But it’s still enough to make Ilya want to abandon all of this and drag Shane back upstairs. “Behave, Ilya,” he says, slipping back into Russian. “You know they can't know.” He turns. The look he throws him is a little too close not to affect him. “We both want it that way.”
Oh. Right. That.

Or Ilya and Shane attempt to hide their relationship at a charity gala. It goes about as well as one would expect.
