Summary

Context! Inspired by chapters 132-156 in the doll festival arc. Though you don't need to have read the manga to understand. For context, if you haven't read it (spoilers), a group of cleaners go to a festival! We start at the start of the day and make our way through until the festival goes sideways when an insane gifted comes about. Fighting ensues. (fic doesn't go into complete detail about the festival/characters introduced or fight)
You don't have to have read the manga to understand, but this is an actual scene from the manga and will be a part of the anime one day, so I'll warn you of the spoilers now! Most of the fic isn't actually a part of the manga (who went to the festival/how it played out, the aftermath of the festival, and everything so forth), so it's not too bad but still.

Summary
The embarrassment and surprise of the whole ordeal shocks Rudo into some clarity. That weird, fuzzy, small feeling fades. And as he straightens up and the movie resumes, he stews on how he was feeling before. Rudo was definitely acting…odd, right? Cuddling with your…coworkers(?) is probably not a normal thing, even in a place as weird as the ground. And why was he feeling so weird? If Enjin and Gris knew all what he was experiencing, they’d probably be creeped out. He can most likely pass it off as being tired or something though, so it was just embarrassing.
These people didn’t want that kind of thing from Rudo. He needed to be a strong fighter–a protector! They didn’t want him soft or small or whatever. The only person who ever would is Regto and he’s…
Rudo can’t quite shake off his tension for the rest of the night, and the movie doesn’t seem as magical as before. He tenses consciously, feeling like a coiled spring, and resolves to be careful and not to let the weird, ‘small’ feeling happen again.
…It fucking happens again.

“I heard your apology. Twice, now,” Silco says. “I don’t forgive you.” He pauses. “Did you think I would? Based on such an apology?”
What else can he say, Vander wants to know. Silco’s always been the one good with words out of the two of them.
“I can’t say it any better,” Vander admits. “Though you deserve that. And nothing I’ll say now will change what I did, regardless. But I do regret it, Sil. I am sorry. With everything that I am. And you’re right. You don’t owe me your forgiveness just because I apologized. But whether you forgive me or not,” his eyes dart back to Singed. “Not like this.”
