Summary
When Abigail Bridgerton, youngest sibling of Edmund Bridgerton, found herself unable to conceive a child to mind her dragon after she passed, her brother's family were happy to offer their aid. Their fourth child, a daughter, was therefore placed into the service at the tender age of seven, as all aviators, although with frequent visits by her small hoard of siblings whenever possible.
Years later she is 21, the war with Napoleon is finally ended, and actions during it have made it impossible to continue hiding women's place in the Aerial Corps service. Given that, and loathe to encourage a match based on unequal information, she is announced before the Queen as Captain Daphne Bridgerton and still conducts herself with enough grace to be named this season's Diamond. Struggling with the clash in what each part of her life expects of her, she dearly hopes to find a husband who can accept her for all she is- and, of course, the 18-ton dragon who comes with her.
