Summary
The Obtailivera plant bears, supposedly, extremely tasty fruit, and its seed were also said to have great use in the kitchen. Either dried and ground up for some spice, or cut up and added as is.
The reason, why he needed Zoro or more specifically his ass gaping wide open, was the plants defense and reproductive system.
In the most literal way, the plant would fuck anyone who stepped in range of it’s vines and stuffing them full of the egg like seeds, waiting for them to spread while leaking out.
Only after it had filled whatever hole came too close and had fully exhausted itself would it be safe to get close and harvest it's fruits.Aka, Sanji finds a plant that fucks Zoro stupid while also getting him new ingredients to experiment with.

Summary
Sanji, like most of the Straw Hat pirates, could have a tendency to be pretty damn stubborn. He didn't fight with his hands. He'd die before hurting a woman, even by accident. He would feed anyone who came to him hungry. Seriously, no one would ever go truly hungry on his watch, simply wasn't allowed to happen in his kitchen.
Naturally, the well-fed should permanently include his crew mates. His crew, however, had come to realize Sanji didn't seem to count himself in that same category.
or, sanji has an eating disorder, and the straw hats try their best to help him cope with it
