Doctor Baizhu is a beautiful man. Doctor Baizhu is so fragile and delicate, it drives Dottore mad.
Ah, if only they had met when Zandik was still fresh and new to the world. Perhaps he would have grown into a more pious man in the end. What right would he have to think so little of gods and their power, when this sickly man could drive his devotion into worship, into obsession?
(Though maybe devotion and obsession went more hand-in-hand than people think.)
