Summary
Lestat knows how much it hurt him, keeping all those secrets from him. Not sharing things until he was backed into a corner. Whatever the reason he struggled to really open up to him about certain things, he knew. He knew how much Louis craved to know more about him. He knew Louis would win that auction. He might not have put much thought, if any, into whether or not Louis would come and find him, but a part of him had to have known because he didn't choose just anywhere to bury himself alive.
He chose the middle of the Black Rock desert in Nevada.

“What happened?” Lestat murmurs. “What did they do to you?”
Louis stands up at that, still holding Lestat’s hand.
The screaming outside fades. Lestat can’t even hear the knocking on the windows anymore.
No, because then Louis is closing the curtains behind them and settling into his lap, one knee on either side of his hips. Because then Lestat has one palm spread against the small of Louis’ back, Louis cupping his face with loving hands, and their foreheads touch.
Lestat forgets what he’d asked.
Quiet.
“I’ll tell you later,” Louis murmurs. “Let me just have this, for now.”

Summary
The issue with helping Lestat fine-tune his lyrics, Louis was finding, had nothing to do with them butting heads while collaborating. Lestat was all gratitude when Louis offered edits, and he often incorporated his suggestions into the final product. Louis, for his part, felt honored to be consulted because he knew how intentional Lestat was with his art, knew how private it was deep down.
That was exactly why Louis had to suck his teeth while reading Lestat’s latest draft.
“You don’t like it,” Lestat observed from where he stood across his kitchen island. His tone was carefully measured, but not careful enough to hide the apprehension from Louis. Never from Louis.

The extended version of that Lestat/Louis scene from s1 ep6:
Louis holds up the vinyl, “This her singing?”
“It’s a clear voice,” Lestat tells him, as though the woman on the record is not in bed with him, “I wanted no obstacle to the lyric.”
Louis is breathing just as hard as Lestat. He throws the record to the floor, completely shattering the only copy. Antoinette gasps at the sudden movement, but Lestat smiles, the slightest twitch of his lips.
“Write me a song, put your lover’s voice on it- what the fuck is wrong with your head?” Louis asks.
Lestat is almost grinning now. Louis is here, in front of him, speaking to him. After six years, Louis is with him once more.
“Louis, you’re soaking wet,” he says, his voice laced with pure adoration.
“I swim faster than I drive,” Louis responds.

Summary
He’s not sure what to expect when he finally enters the bedroom and when faced with the reality of it, he realizes he never could have conjured a sight like this. Lestat is stretched out on dark emerald green sheets, accentuating the flush of his pale skin which is completely bare; all of him, every glorious inch on full display. The muted glow of lamplight surrounds him with a halo, making his hair glow, kissing the curve of his cheeks, the long lashes flashing gold when they flutter at Louis.
“I’m afraid I started without you, love,” Lestat breathes, biting his lower lip in a very distracting manner, “Hope you don’t mind.”

She’s been calling him Lestat now, instead of ‘papa’ or ‘pops’ or the more severe ‘father’ she used to break out when she was being dramatic. Like she can distance herself from him, like she didn’t use to follow Lestat around like a shadow, imitating his every move while Lestat pretended not to notice, making increasingly dramatic gestures until Claudia was spinning around, laughing so hard she was doubled over. That feels like forever ago now, an entire decade between that family and this one.

The arena was too loud.
Louis felt the bass before he properly heard it, the vibrations rising through concrete and steel to settle unpleasantly beneath his ribs. White lights swept endlessly over the crowd below, catching glitter, sweat, upturned faces shining with the particular ecstasy of mortals permitted proximity to something beautiful enough to ruin them. They screamed themselves ragged for a vampire who had once played piano for Louis through his large iPad screen, candlelight wavering gold across his face while rain battered the windows of his Montreal apartment.
It still unsettled him sometimes, seeing Lestat like this. Not the fame, because Lestat had always required attention the way fire required oxygen. What disturbed him was the scale of it. The noise. The sheer appetite of it all. The complete surrender of himself to spectacle.
