Ash’s grip on his fishing rod tightens. “You keep disappearing.” He reiterates. “It’s— frustrating.” Why is he even pretending to be upset about this? Testing the waters, perhaps. To see what happens if he gets them mad.

Summary
Being the city’s most favorite superhero has its perks and downsides, but it’s mostly downsides when you are also a high school student trying to figure out your way in this world.
Squiddo, the city’s famed superhero, “The Artist,” is a masked figure, and not even her own parents know her secret job. But when a new student arrives at her school, her world is tilted upside down when she realizes that heroes are not what they really seem to be.
Murders, media intervention, fake powers, and the greed for money, Squiddo realized maybe, she is on the wrong side after all. Oh, and that new student? Yea, she thinks he is hella cute.

Three weeks after Pangi stumbles home, half-dead, things fall back into relative normalcy. They don't talk about it. They put a potted-plant over the blood-stain in their carpet, and they don't talk about it.
The two of them never intend to get into any trouble at all, really. Honestly, not since they moved. This was supposed to be a fresh start, okay? They don't ever go looking for these things, the aforementioned things just happen to find them.
The body they find inside of an abandoned building is one of those things.
Worse, the body has a pulse.
Even worse than that, Pili thinks he might look familiar.

Summary
Ash falls to the floor, barely catching himself. Minute steps aside, allowing Spoke to hammer a boot into Ash’s stomach. He wheezes at that, and before he can recover, Spoke picks him up by the shoulders and shoves into the bookcase behind him. Several books fall down, some hitting Ash’s head. He hisses from pain, but when he looks up at Spoke, there’s a smile on his face. “Didn’t take you for a sadistic type.”
Spoke raises his sword. “You’re just getting what you deserve,” he promises, and then—
Before he can bring the blade down, there’s a sound of breaking blocks above him, and something—someone—falls straight on him. They do barely any damage, but they startle him enough to make him stumble back and allow them to insert themself between Spoke and Ash. They crouch on the floor, covering Ash with their body, and point a loaded crossbow at Spoke.
Their hands shake.
During the final confrontation with Ash, Spoke decides to kill him. He meets unexpected resistance.
