They established themselves as the 'bosses' of the supernatural community. Otherworldly powers ranging from every god ever thought up to Hell itself report to them and vie for their favor and assistance.
When Hob Gadling lost everything, he lied, cheated and murdered his way into Destiny's garden to demand answers, and ended up a prisoner of the Endless.
