Summary
After Dudley is kissed by a dementor the summer before his fifth year, Harry flees to diagon, certain his uncle will kill him if he's found. While there, he learns he has a magical guardian, Albus Dumbledore, who should have removed him when he asked for help escaping the Dursleys.
Between the knowledge that Dumbledore will send him back no matter how much he begs and the fact that a war is on the horizon that he knows he will be forced into, he needs a new guardian that won't force him back to the Dursleys or to fight. The only ways to achieve that would be to petition the Wizengamot where Dumbledore has control, or to sign a marriage contract already accepted by his family before Dumbledore became his guardian. The problem is, his fate is in the hands of none other than Draco Malfoy.

Summary
Dumbledore doesn't make it in time for Harry's trial, and the outcome is very different. Harry is expelled, his wand snapped.
But he refuses to give up. And he is done waiting around for Albus Dumbledore to give him information.
Deciding to take his life into his own hands, Harry asks for training from several Order members, preparing himself to fight Voldemort while the whole wizarding world believes he's helpless and back in the muggle world.
Meanwhile, his friends are at Hogwarts, tackling their own problems in the form of Dolores Umbridge. Harry hadn't expected the separation to be so difficult - or for a certain mischievous redhead to make the waiting game they'd entered into so very excruciating.
He might have lost his home in Hogwarts, but with Sirius and Remus around, Harry begins to learn that rebuilding a family isn't as hard as he'd anticipated.

Summary
Harry felt something touch both sides of his head, gripping it tight enough to be uncomfortable, but not so tight as to hurt — or perhaps he was so used to pain that it didn't register. This time, he did try to scream, but the sound came out muffled, eaten by the darkness as soon as it emerged. The thing around his head grew warmer. When it was hot enough that he thought it would leave his skin red and raw, the first images started flashing in his mind.
They appeared faster and faster, one image after another, flickering in front of his eyes. When the last of the images faded from sight, the darkness was back to being just that — dark. The feeling of not being alone was gone, as was the heat around his head. All Harry was left with were the memories of a life he hadn't yet lived, and the sneaking suspicion that things would never be the same.

If you asked Harry what he would do two weeks after the war he probably wouldn't have been able to tell you. He’d been sure of his own death for years really, he’d always known what the cost would be if only subconsciously until the end, he had never wanted to torture himself with an imagined future.
What he could have told you though was what absolutely WOULDN’T happen. He wouldn’t adopt a gaggle of homeless Death Eaters kids trying to work out the shambles of their lives.
Yet somehow his kitchen in Grimmauld Place had become overrun with Slytherins.
The ever-shirtless Blaise Zabini leaned against the kitchen counters sipping his tea with a look of orgasmic bliss on his face. Daphne Greengrass and her sister Astoria sat on one side of the table while a still mostly asleep Theo Nott dozed on her shoulder. They were chatting to Pansy Parkinson who was sitting across from them, a dark black coffee in front of her. Motion to his left made Harry snap his head around to watch as a laughing Hermione walked in trailed by an equally amused Draco Malfoy.
No, Harry thought, he wouldn’t have predicted this. Nor would he have predicted how much he was slowly growing to love it.

After begging Dumbledore and getting nowhere he decides on the train back to London that if no-one else is going to look after him then he would just have to do it himself.
He dons his Invisibility Cloak and hides. He wouldn't tell anyone not even his friends. Not until he got away.
First Stop: Gringotts.Only he hadn't expected what that spur of the moment decision would unravel.

Summary
The Potter's didn't really know what to make of Harry's Dracken inheritance, but they dealt with it as always. Though protecting Harry from dominant Drackens intent on having him as their own was a full time job, James was willing to do it for his beloved son. He couldn't prevent Harry from mating for long, but at least Aneirin and Myron were the best of a bad situation, in his opinion at least.
