    “Honestly Deku, I really couldn’t care less that you have a girlfriend.”

    Silence fell upon the room as Izuku gave him a look he couldn’t quite decipher. “...What are you trying to say?” Izuku finally questioned after several moments, carefully.

    Shit.

    Katsuki has been pining for years after Izuku. He's softened up a bit, bankrolled a hero suit for the nerd, and gives lectures at UA whenever Izuku requests it. So when what he thought was a dream they shared doesn't pan out like he'd planned, life goes in a direction Katsuki never would've expected.

    A story told over five acts which leans heavily into the pain of three characters, with Katsuki's anguish being the focal-point. The happy ending and eventual comfort to the hurt exists for everyone, no matter how bleak things may seem at times, but this story will be gut-wrenching to read most of the chapters. If you aren't at least a bit of a masochist, this fic is probably not for you. You have been warned.

    Oh, and the title of the fic is in part inspired by the song Scorpio Rising by Soccer Mommy, and also in part by, well, astrology.

    Katsuki’s first encounter with his own hanahaki came right at the end of their 2nd year at UA, and as he stands over the ceramic sink, he thinks "Of course the petals are green. What else could they have fucking been."
    Green, like his hair. Green, like his eyes. That shitty ner-
    "Kacchan?" The devil in question peeked his head through the bathroom door, voice laced with concern, "Is everything okay?"
    Of course it's not, Katsuki thinks. But ultimately, all he could do was nod, "I'm fine."

    OR: Deku and Ground Zero are now Pro-Heroes, 2 years in the industry going strong, but how long can Katsuki ignore the flowers he's coughing up before it's too late. How long can Izuku pine after the former silently until it's too late?

    “So much,” Katsuki shakes his head, his own eyes burning with the sting of tears. “And nothing at all. There’s just the one thing, but fuck, it’s everything.”

    or: katsuki is hit with a truth quirk and is finally forced to admit his feelings for izuku, who he believes doesn't love him back.

    Izuku looks contemplative for a moment, and then his face lights up, which means he’s got an idea. He turns to the entire common room and spreads his arms out wide, beaming and standing on the coffee table for good measure.

    “Oh, fuck no,” Bakugou groans, his face turning a little red. Denki grins; he loves it when people embarrass Bakugou. It’s his one and only reason to live.

    “Everyone!” Izuku yells, “if I may have your attention!”

    Contrary to popular opinion, Bakugou Katsuki does care about people. He just has weird ways of showing it.

    And his friends? Well, they care about him right back. And now that Deku's finally his friend again? He's gonna show it, too.

    Or: Katsuki accidentally lets himself love, and ends up not regretting it.
