Viktor learned early on that he would always be rejected. So, he stuffed his feelings into a box and threw away the key. It wasn't a good trait for a Zaunite, a budding scientist, to be so sensitive anyways.
Then, he meets Jayce Talis and everything kind of sort of changes.
(based partially on a response tweet from Viktor's VA, who believes that Viktor spent his life closing himself off emotionally before we meet him in Ep. 2 to combat how intense said emotions are. good take, if you ask me!)

Many of the events are adapted from Before Crisis, but that plot is not followed precisely. There is more fidelity to the events of The Original Game and to Advent Children, in terms of plot but maybe not in terms of dialogue.

So funny and embarrassing story: I'm back in the fucking building again (loving Rufus and his rights and wrongs unconditionally) after I saw his card in the Final Fantasy Magic the Gathering collection. I saw him and I started crying(??????????) Anyway, I was compelled to look up fics since it's been a while and I'm so glad I did because I loved this to pieces. 10/10 tysm OP.
