The coffee on base is complete shit. Which is why whenever the higher-ups give him leave, Arthur finds himself driving the half an hour to the next town over to spend $1.95 on a large cup of joe at the town’s resident coffee house, The Stomping Ground.
Some day, Arthur has often found himself thinking, he’s going to order a sandwich or a scone or something, one item off the handful that are written in chalk up on the wall behind the registers.
Today, however, is not that day. He will, in fact, be lucky if he can grab his coffee. Which, as it so happens, is in another man’s grasp at the moment...

Here’s a thing: it takes Steve five consecutive mornings to work up the courage to talk to Sam Wilson.
The sun on his skin, Jesus Christ. How it burnishes him until he’s glowing, radiant against the early morning sky all luminous pink-lilac, the sweeping white columns of the Jefferson Memorial as backdrop, and Steve starts having all these thoughts about the gods and myths he read about as a kid. The art, the statues, beautiful human gods carved in marble and gilded with gold. He draws Sam, once, from memory, and adds a laurel wreath almost without thinking about it.
(Later, he will find this equal parts mortifying and hilarious.)

It’s inevitable, the way it goes. He’s my friend, Steve says, and he is, he is, he must be. Sam’s best friend is Steve, and Steve’s best friend is a werewolf, that’s just how Sam’s life works now.
But once he realizes he’s attracted to Bucky and Bucky can tell, everything becomes, like, a thousand percent more difficult to negotiate. Sam’s just trying to live his life, that’s all, and he keeps getting confronted by Bucky Barnes in a soft flannel shirt, sleeves rolled up, hair all soft and shiny. Bucky glances over at him and smirks, and this is really very embarrassing, how Sam can’t hide his attraction even if he keeps a totally straight face.

Summary
Arthur and Eames decide to take a vacation on the Trans-Siberian express. Old, (and a few new) unknown enemies lurk in every car. Even though these people seem quite familiar with them, Arthur and Eames have no idea who they are or what they want. The other passengers--elderly couples, high-toned society families, an unruly teenage thief and her exasperated parents--are all in danger, just because two dream-criminals wanted a vacation together. Arthur and Eames refuse to let innocent people become collateral damage. They have to try to protect everyone else and each other, while battling mysterious neurological symptoms.
Still, none of it is as dangerous as the emerging memories of the things they did to each other in the past.

Eames had always known that there were only two ways to leave the special forces: death and treason (and even those weren't guaranteed). So far he'd avoided both and planned to keep it that way. Which was how he'd found himself back in Blighty with a government commission to militarise a member of Her Majesty's Opposition. The pay was shit (accommodations and living expenses provided) but came with promises of continued 'looking in the other direction' as far as some of his less legitimate activities were concerned. And it was one MP - how hard could it be?
Sir Mark Brydon hadn't thought his move from diplomacy to politics would turn out like this: an amazing wife, an adopted son and a constituency that didn't seem to hate him. At least not personally. A nice change from being neck deep in one of the worst government conspiracies for years. That was before the meeting with the serious looking men with serious looking paperwork for him to sign. Welcome to lucid dreaming, bureaucrat style.
This is a story about the past and the future. About truth, loyalty and morality - and lack thereof. About dreams and reality. But mostly it is a story about four men, six months and an anonymous office room.
